Projects

My work spans hip-hop, theatre, screenwriting, literary non-fiction, and audio drama, exploring power, oppression, ancestral connections, and generational healing. I create original music, librettos, essays, and multi-disciplinary projects, and partner with universities and arts organizations to design residencies, workshops, and collaborative programs. Every project is an opportunity to imagine new realities and radical possibilities.

A collage featuring a Rolex watch at the center, with a vintage tone face, hand showing 9:07, and a black and white eye design on the right side of the dial. Surrounding the watch are various images, including a mailbox, a rural street scene, a clown face with teeth visible, a person's mouth with braces, and two hands holding a sign that says "BLUES." Blue doodles and patterns decorate the background.

Role: Creator, Writer, & Show-runner

What is it: An immersive audio drama exploring memory, identity, and legacy.

Timeline and other facts: Currently in post-production the scripted audio drama series is set in my hometown of Memphis in the early 90s. The series explores themes of inter generational differences, black economics, city change, and spirituality.

We have a cast of seasoned actors and Memphis legends who help to bring the characters to life. The project centers on themes of resilience, transformation, and generational history, inviting listeners into a world that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Bloodbound’s post-production is handled in partnership with Champlain College, where their Sonic Arts Department brings expertise in audio editing, sound design, and final production to bring the project to life.

A diverse group of seven people stands on a stage inside a church, smiling and clapping, with a grand, ornate altar and stained glass windows behind them. One person is holding a violin, another a flute, and others are dressed in formal or semi-formal attire.

Requiem For The Enslaved

Role: Librettist & Performer

What is it: In Requiem for the Enslaved, I collaborated with Carlos Simon’s multi-genre composition as a musical tribute honoring the 272 enslaved men, women, and children sold by Georgetown University in 1838, blending original compositions with spoken word, African American spirituals and familiar Catholic liturgical melodies.
